COVID-19 Update

We want to let you know what precautions we are taking to keep our patients and staff healthy and safe!

IOA Recommends Following CDC Mask Guidelines After State Mandate Ends on April 6, 2021

Although Indiana’s COVID-19 mask mandate will end on April 6, The Indiana Optometric Association (IOA) recommends continued adherence to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendation that face masks be worn in Optometric offices by the public and staff.  Healthcare offices attract people of varying ages and with various medical conditions.  Adherence to mask use ensures that all Hoosiers will continue to have access to healthcare in a safe environment that suits their age and the condition of their health. Our office staff will continue to wear masks and we will require patients to wear them while in the office until the CDC recommends not wearing them.

  • We are reducing the number of patients we will see at one time and spacing them out to prevent too many people being in the office at one time.
  • Screening staff for symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival to our practice and screening patients for symptoms prior to their appointments
  • Any staff that are showing signs of being sick are being sent home and referred to their primary care physician
  • Any patients that are showing signs of being sick are being rescheduled and referred to their primary care physician
  • Asking patients to limit the number of people they bring with them to their appointment
  • Staff will be wearing masks while patients are in the office
  • Patients will be asked to bring in a mask to wear during their appointment. If they are unable to do so, we will supply a mask to them as long as we have a supply of masks to pull from
  • Patients will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon arrival
  • Any object, surface, chair, equipment, etc. that a patient touches will be wiped down and disinfected after each patient
  • We have removed all magazines and toys from the reception room and spaced the chairs out 6 feet apart
  • The exam rooms and equipment will be wiped down between each patient
  • A UV Light Sterilizer will be used to sterilize rooms between patients to kill any airborne pathogens
  • We will clean the restroom after each patient use
  • Once a patient has completed the frame selection process, a staff member will disinfect each pair touched before replacing them on the frame board
We want to provide a safe environment to protect our patients and staff. Keeping everyone safe is our #1 priority.
Thank you for being our patient during and after these tough times. We will not only get through this, but we will emerge stronger after it!
